Welcome

It’s been a really busy start to the new school year.  Welcome back to all students and staff and warmest welcomes to our new students and staff.  We wish all our students and staff a happy, safe and exciting year ahead full of fun and learning in our school.

Lots of works were completed over the summer break.  Playgrounds in both our schools have been completed and are proving very popular with everyone.  Playground projects were completed as a result of the amazingly successful Strictly fundraiser organised by our Parent’s Association and through collaboration with Difference Days, St Gerard’s School, Bray and Verve Event Management company.  We extend our sincere thanks to everyone involved in our playgrounds project.  Your kindness and hard work has made a huge improvement to our school facilities.

Our Parent’s Association are holding an Open Morning and Bake Sale at the new Playground in the EDC next Thursday Morning 18th October. Everyone is invited to come along to see our fabulous playground, enjoy a cuppa and a chat and pick up some tasty treats.

Our EDC building also received a wonderful makeover during the summer holidays.  Painting and lighting in the EDC has really brightened up our hallway and the students love looking at the different colours as they move along the corridors.  Thanks to Eileen from Class 14 and Kalinda from St Catherine’s Association for all their help with the makeover and to the paint and lighting equipment suppliers who were very generous in donating supplies.  Special thanks to the parents of one of our students, Annette and Declan, for organising and funding this project, your support of our school is truly appreciated by all.

Two classrooms had new Touch Screens installed over the summer and the students and staff are delighted with these wonderful new resources. We thank Voices of Bray Choir for donating the proceeds of their recent concert to us for this project.

Last year we had a number of music classes for the students in Kilmullen Lane. These were great fun and a wonderful learning experience for everyone involved. The good news is that we will be having “Music with Tommy” again this year and we thank one of our parents, Stephen, for arranging funding for this through BT.

The Parent’s Association will be holding their AGM on Tuesday 23rd of October at 8.00 in Kilmullen Lane. We would love to see as many parents as possible at the AGM and it would be great if some new parents would put their names forward and join the PA and become involved in the wonderful work they do for the school.
